My computer crashed while using a microsoft virus scanner. Because my usb drive was inoperable, microsoft referred me to 877-526-4466. This "AnswersBy" provides support for E-Machines. Answers by asked me for $150, then $200, then $99. They claim they told me that I was spending this money for their "best efforts" and there would be no refund. I was never directed to the above website until today when I called e-machines for the refund. There was never a hardware problem, and their solution was to reload my operating system. When my machine was under warranty, they always did this, and I lost email and files. I refused to do this again, and resolved the problem with the help of Microsoft and Verizon.
