Did not provide technical support Washington nationwide

Microsoft support for Microsoft programs.
In early May I downloaded Microsoft's Program, Windows Media Player 10 from the internet. It ran with no problem for a couple of weeks. Then suddenly one day a few weeks ago, it started shutting down my computer and rebooting it any time I opened the program. I also started receiving error messages telling me that there were 2 damaged or corrupted files that were probably causing the problem.

I have asked Microsoft several times how to find these files and how to delete them or correct the problems. Their responses have been no help at all except an attempt to pass the buck to the manufacturer of my computer or get me to pay for assistance. I don't think it should be necessary to pay for technical assistance for a product that was downloaded from Microsoft's web site just a couple of months ago.in my lifetime (75 years) most companies honor a minimum warranty of 90 days. Evidently this is not so at Microsoft!

They are obviously a leader in corporate America's disregard of the consumer in favor of a fat bottom line!
Their other problem, in my opinion, is their outsourcing of technical support jobs. I have no problem with their Canadian support, but I do take exception to their support in India. Those that I have had the displeasure of working with have difficulties communicating in English and have obviously been trained to push assistance for pay and pass the buck to other manufacturers.
