I went to purchase auto insurance for my suv (ford) expedition. I did not hardly have any money, but i was so glad the lord made a way for me to scrap up enough money to purchase an insurance policy for $275.00 down. I knew i would not have another $275 for some time. Ocean harbor approved me for a one year policy for $1220.54 on this vehicle. All of a sudden, about two weeks later, this company informed me that they had cancelled my insurance. The final date being in two weeks. Yes, they sent me $135. (minus $140). But this was not enough to get another policy. I was told by the agent that they said they cancelled my policy because 2 years ago, a friend of mine was involved in a car accident. I told the agent that at the time of purchasing my policy. If this was the case, why did they give me the policy in the first place? I really feel that this was a scam. They contacted tallahassee and told them i did not have insurance. They wrote me a letter and told me my insurance would cancel for no insurance on october 25. I am disability and just couldn't get up another $275. Now my license are suspended. I feel that they should pay for the fraudulent activity of cancelling my insurance for a fraudelent reason. If i knew that they were going to cancel my insurance—i never would have purchased it with them. Please help. Thank you!
