I have had terrible experieince wiht Direct TV. I feel trapped. They find sneaky ways to renew your 2 year contract without even informing you, so you are basically stuck either paying them forever, or cancelling and paying the canecellation fee. Whe I called to cancel my service, I first confirmed that I was done with my 2 year contract. I was clearly told that my 2 year contract is over. When I told them I would like to cancel the services, they first tried to convince me for several minutes to keep the account. When I refused to change my mind, they were extremely rude and told me that my contract was extended to without my consent.
The reason they gave me for extension was also ridiculous. I had moved to a new place in April. When the techinican came in to put the new connection, without asking me he changed the receiver and told me that for technical reasons, he had to change the receiver. I made sure to ask him that I was not being chrged on enetering a new contract for this, but I was told this was only for technical reasons and nothing else changes. However now it seems like it was a plot to keep me in the service, since last year I had talked to them about cancelling my service when the contract ended. So they probably found a sneaky way to get money from me. No matter what you do, NEVER get DIRECT TV.
