Baers has elegant furniture - have been their customer for several years so returned to find a replacment sofa for living room. Since my last putchase I live with others so the place had gotten crowded with furniture and the building did repairs and the elevators are taler but narrower and the hallways are lower. Result is that the existing sofa would not fit thru hallways or elevator so it could not be donated to any charity and it had to be cut into pieces to exit. So I had strict size requirements.
Received an add for a 65 percent off sale and went to the wrong address but the sale folder was accepted. When comparing prices, it was NOT 65 percent off the tag on the furniture but between10 and 12 percent which would pay for delivery and taxes, an advertizing gimmick. Measured about 6 sofas, the salesman pulled apart a sectional, all to meet the size that would fit. I left a down payment.
I called to cancel the sofa - 2 chairs from Ikea will fit both in the elevator and in the apt and provide seating without bring sofa in by hand up several flights of steps, extra cost, or with a crane, extra cost. Salesman from Baers. Mr. Rodriguez who was very aware of the size limitation, called to tell me he, or the company BAERS, will not cancel the order - or they won't return the money - that I MUST purchase furniture at BAERS. No refund. Hell, the furniture is in their warehouse in Plantation - it's just a paper transaction! I called American Express - AE will try to get return of $1500.00.
Do not believe anything said to you at baers even if you are a! 0 yr customer. This is not a return after using the furniture for a week or a month - this is a cancellation!!! - beware of lies and money hungry mongrels.
