I want to start this report by stating that I work for this company and have worked for them for a number of years. From an investigators perspective ICS Merrill is not a terrible place to work, they pay up front your hotel and gas expenses and the pay is not the worst in the industry but they do have some major issues that you see in several reports posted here. First, the senior management is so far removed from the field its almost funny if it was not so sad. My supervisor who is also a regional manager (SH) hasnt answered his cell phone in months and from all accounts it has been shut off for months because it just goes to voice mail. If you need to reach him on the weekends or after hours forget about it. But remember if you work here you are expected to answer your phone anytime night or day. My second issue with my regional field manager is the constant threats about working for competitors in the industry. Through many investigators in the company I have learned that (SH) has just this year worked at least one file for Titan (which this company gives our company work) and that in the past he has worked for at least one other company that investigators are talking about. And he tells us we cant do this? Overall the case managers are well below subpar in the industry. They dont have any field experience and ask you to do outrageous things on files to obtain video. They rarely answer your calls and to their credit appear to be very loaded down with too many files. The work load is about the same here as it is industry wide, summers are busy (except this summer and winters are not). That is nothing new; you just have to plan accordingly for the winter months. Again overall if you can work independently without any support from your manager this might be the place for you. Good luck
