MTN Area Commucations
Withdrew money from bank acct before I agreed to let them charge acct for subscriptions

Was contacted by MTN Area Communications on 9/20 and told that I won a $1,000 gift certificate for a shopping spree. I was also asked if I would be interested in some magazine subcriptions and I replied yes. When they asked me for my bank card info they insisted nothing would be charged to my acct until I was billed and this was for informational purposes only to verify that I had an active card. I stupidly gave them the information.

Within 20 minutes my acct had been charged and 5 minutes later charged again. The bank immediately alerted me to unusal activity when they attempted a third access. I was forced to cancel my card and disrupt my banking business for several days.

When I called their phone number and raised h*l, I was told me that I had given verbal approval to charge my acct. When I argued this, they told me too bad, and hung up the phone. I have received nothing and expect their next move will be to send further billing to a collection agency and try to ruin my credit.

I beleive that they should have to furnish some taped recording that proves I gave consent to withdraw money from my acct which they will not be able to provide. I now learn through usacomplaints. Coms that many similar complaints have been made about this company over several years and still they continue this scam. WHY? Is this not a crime or just something to take the losses and move on.
