EZ Pawn
Consumer Report

On or about July 1st (the first Saturday of July) I went to EZ Pawn and paid off a man's diamond ring that i had in laway since instead of keeping said man's ring at that time i traded it for a women wedding set for $. That trade left me with a sum of $ amount of money. At that time I decided to re-laway said ring. I then added $ amount to the laway. I paid on said ring up to %. At that time I paid the man's ring off and left the store. This was on a Friday. I wore said ring all weekend. On the first monday i decided to take said ring off before going to work. Upon returning from work I put said ring on to go out, at which time I noticed the ring looked dull and had a cooper look on one side. I continued to wear the ring even though it looked dull and different than my other ring i had purchased at the same place. Upon the end of my evening I put the ring in the jewelry box and did not wear it again. I decided to take the ring back to where i purchased it to see if they could explain why the ring looked so dull. Upon entering the EX Pawn, a female offered to help me, she said she was the manager. I proceeded to tell her and show her the ring. At which time i also pointed out the difference of the two rings. I had purchased from this pawn shop. The lady tested it with some type of solution, at which time she told me the ring tested positive for 14kt. Gold but not 10 kt. I found that to alittle unusal. Why would it test positive for one karat and not another. This doesn't make sense. I proceeded to get Hot Headed and asked the so called manager about the diamonds in the ring. She didn't answer my question.instead she asked "do i have to call the police, Sir". At that moment I of course decided to leave the pawn shop. Before leaving she told me I could return with my receipt and swap it for something else. This was not an option for me. They already sold me a fake man's ring, why would I want to purchase anything else. Upon leaving I took said ring to another jeweler. Said jeweler did a test like the manager of EZ Pawn did. At that time the gentleman told me the ring was fake and had no gold in it. He did not check the diamonds, so that is still questionable. I have purchased several pieces of jewelry from said pawn shop and never had and incident such as this happen. But the first man's ring i purchased from them was pawned at the time of this incident. I questioned the manager about this ring so i could get it out of pawn. Only to find out they could not locate said ring. So now i am out of the amount of the fake ring and the first ring i purchased which i paid approximately $600, i want my money back for the fake ring and should the other ring reappear, I will not accept it unless someone other than the manager of that store says it is real.
