Auto Glass Techs
Consumer Report

On Friday, July 1 at approx 10am, I found Auto Glass Techs on the internet and called them for information in reference to replacing a rear window on my jeep. He asked a few questions about the make of my vehicle, and if the window was heated or not. I told him it is a heated window. He quoted me $228.84. This was one of the least expensive of the companies i had called and they would come to my house to do the repair. He said they could come out that same day. I explained that I may not be at the address when they came but my daughter would. He said they would be there 'sometime today'.
At 4:30 pm i received a phone call from the installer saying he wasn't able to make it today because his 'wife was in labor'. Saturday morning, July 2 I received a phone call from the main office, (same guy i scheduled with) and he was 'confirming my appt for today'. I laughed, but agreed that they could come out to fix the window, since it was a holiday weekend and I didn't want to wait 3 more days for it to be fixed.
The installed did arrive around 1pm. He was very nice, and did a great job installing the window. However, after the window was installed, I noticed that it was not a heated window. He also handed me a bill that was $100 more than I was quoted. He called his 'boss', who was the same guy I had been speaking to. (I was so upset that the price went up that I actually forgot about it being the wrong window!) The 'boss' informed me that he "already gave me a discount and Ii needed to pay it" and hung up. I grabbed the receipt and decided I would handle this on Tuesday, after the holiday.
Tuesday, July 5 I called Auto Glass Techs to discuss the fact that the wrong window was sent and installed. I explained this to the 'boss' and he asked me for an order # off the receipt, as if he didn't know who I was! When i gave it to him, he stated that this was not one of their order #'s and hung up on me! I called the number back several times and he would not answer.
I had the installer's number, so I called him and he stated that he was "just the employee and didn't want to get involved". When I asked him if he was going to admit being at my house on Saturday or if he was going to deny it as well, he agreed that he was the installer, but again he didn't want to "get involved".
