Richard Johnson agreed to perform electrical work on house to bring up to code: replace breaker box, install ground rod, wiring & junction boxes. He replaced the breaker box and then the problems started as he became very difficult to get a hold of to complete the work. Since he had done well to that point, I "foolishly" paid him in full expecting him to complete the job in good faith & in short order. After pursuing him for several weeks, and with the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching, I had to find another contractor to finish the work. The new contractor discovered that Richard Johnson had used undersize wire which didn't meet code. I had to buy new wire to change out what he had done. This is apparently a common ploy among con-artists to cut corners and make even more money on materials. He never installed the ground rod and several other items we had agreed upon. Basically, he scammed me and I wound up having to have a different contractor redo his work. Please warn especially the Joplin, MO tornado victims about him & his company, as he has gotten FEMA registered and is hotly pursuing work with the survivors.
