Having to use "their" paper bag to take items out of store when I HAVE my "recyle" bag to use

First of all, I am 56 years old; and I was asked to furnish my ID in order to purchase an alcoholic beverage. I can understand that part, as there may have been some legal breaches beforehand that then mandated this to be a regular practice. I was told that all people were asked for their ID, as it was "policy."

Secondly, I had my reusable "Green Bag" ready to use to carry the item out after purchase, and was told I HAD to use their bag to take it to the door. So I did this, and am not happy about it because there is an obvious reason I am using the "Green Bag." When I asked what the reason was for that, I was told it was "Policy." Also the cashier was not exactly polite about any of this, even though i went along with it.

My Question is WHY do I need to use the gas station's paper bag to carry the item to the DOOR, when I have a bag that I brought myself. This makes NO sense to me.

I will not be coming back, if this is the policy. ONE: Because it's "harassment" to have to dig out my ID when I am 56 years old. SECOND: Because I believe in saving the environment, and using whatever measures I can to fulfill this need. I want to know the REASONS why these constraints are being imposed. Other than it's just Policy."

Thank you, A. Leone
