Why are the salespeople so unhelpful?
I was the only person in the store, purchasing some clothing items (for my daughter). The salesgirl told me that I could not even put the items down on the counter so that I could take out my wallet! My other arm was filled with clothing that my daughter had tried on, but did not want. I was going to put them away and come back to pay for the desired items.instead, I just left them there, for the rude sales clerks to put away, as none of them were doing anything at all! God forbid they should even say "hello", or be helpful! There was no one else in that store purchasing anything; no one else waiting in line at the register—only me. There was also a display rack of polo shirts in colors that my daughter had been looking for, but the salesgirl would not help me get them down from the rack. What is wrong with them? I am accustomed to shopping at much nicer establishments, such as Neiman Marcus. However, even less expensive stores have nicer salespeople. I could POSSIBLY understand rudeness if they were busy, but they absolutely were not busy at all; in fact the salesclerks were simply talking to each other. It is like this every time we try to shop there. We will instead purchase the polo shirts on line, on the website. However, it is ridiculous to have to pay shipping and handling when there is a Hollister store a few blocks away from our house! Can't you train the sales clerks to be friendly? There are many people out of work who would probably be pleased to work there.
