On May 7 there was a shoe party in which I was the manager on duty. On May 17 my DSM Eric Otero and store manager Audrey Mateo, brought to their attention from a few sales associates that there was alcohol in the party and I was the only one drinking. I was shocked that someone would lie on me so I can get fired. I specifically explained to my DSM that I was unaware of any alcohol beverages brought to the party. The only beverages that I knew of was soda and non-alcohol apple cider. Then I proceeded to ask him what physical proof do you have pertaining this information. Eric explained to me that there were people that came to him in the store with this information. I explained everything about that night which I was running the floor so we can make the day fast. He explained to me that this is confidential and none of this information should be shared with anyone. On May 21 approximately 5:38pm Eric and Audrey called me in the office and told me that I am no longer employed by Aerosoles because of the final conclusion of the investigation. Further information came from three associates in the store that had the same story, so that is the reason why we have to let you go. Also you spoke to one of the associates by asking them questions about the shoe party. Then I proceeded to ask Eric, "so I am getting fired based on heresay not physical proof. I come to work everyday and go above and beyond for this company and I told you what I only saw and did at the shoe party". Eric then said "there are three other people that said something totally different". Then I told Eric these are the same three people that I have been having problems since day one and they are always finding ways to get me fired. I handed over my keys and thanked Eric for the opportunity for working for Aerosoles. I spoke to Susan O'Donnell HR mgr about filing a grievance due to the circumstances for wrongful termination based on heresay. Susan explained to me that the termination was justified and she can not grant my grievance. This is a case of staff members coming together to plot against someone that was totally harmless to them. These same sales associates have been starting with other managers to get them fired as well. Also this store has a history of staff members setting up managers and getting them fired. This has been an ongoing situation because the same people that set-up other managers and got them fired are still employed by Aerosoles. I felt that the whole ending results was unfair to me because they questioned my intrigue based on accusations that were fabricated. However, I thank Aerosoles for providing me with great management skills so I can progress in my future accomplishments.
