Back in April I received a call from Linda Johnson at Infomatika, wanting to verify my company's info, for the upcoming 2004 directory. She said we've been in thier listing for the past 2 years. Then she asked me how I would be handling payment.
At the time I was new to the company, but I was also well aware of the possible frauds out there. I checked our Accounts Payable history, for the list of vendors, and did not pull up Infomatika. I told her we were not interested in this directory, and she said the order was already authorized, and it was too late to cancel.
I asked her who authorized this order, and she said I did, back in February. At this point I knew it was fraud because I was not working for the company back in February, I had just started. I told her I was not interested but a couple of weeks later, she sent me a huge box, which I refused, and sent back to her. I got an invoice for $349, so I called her to tell her to credit us immediately.
I've gotten 2 calls from "David" in their collections dept, demanding payment. His last call to me was unbelievable. He was so rude and harrassed me, asking if I knew how to pay my bills. I hung up and he kept calling and calling. When you call the company, you will never reach anybody live. Notice it's the same girl on the greeting, for every v-mail you get, this is for Linda, David, and the office manager.
