In November I received a phone call from Infomatika verifying our company name and address. I verified that the name and the address were correct.
The person told me that this was regarding a renewal of a publication called American Business Listing Directory that we were presently receiving so I said OK.
In December we received an invoice in the amount of $349.95 for the listings directory. Our accounts payable person did not pay for the invoice because no one in the office recognized this directory.
In January we started receiving phone calls from a lady named Rosie and faxes from Alicia Brooks telling us we were past due on the mentioned invoice. These phone calls have not stopped.
One of this phone calls from Infomatica indicated that they had an audio tape with my voice on it authorizing the purchase of this directory. On December 6 one of my co-workers heard this tape. All I say in this tape is the word OK, I honestly believe this tape was modified to their convenience. I would have never agreed to purchase anything for the company I work for because I'm not authorize to do so.
On the same day, December 6, I called my nephew who works for an attorney and he told me to check this company under the Better Business Bureau because it sound it to be a fraud. He also suggested for me to write them a letter, which I did. I addressed the letter to Kathleen Thomas, who is the person I was informed to speak with to discuss the issue.
I searched in the Better Business Bureau website and found out several people and companies have file complaints on this company, some on these complaints are just like my case.
The purpose of this complaint is to try to stop Infomatika from continuing to rip-off people and companies with their Scam. People and companies like Infomatika need to be stopped and placed in jail for fraudulent tactics, harassment, and tampering of audio tapes.
