Best Buys / Geek Squad did me wrong! - Gateway Compute

I bought a $1700 gateway less then 3 years it wouldn't turn on. I took to Best Buy my warranty expired, not a problem I didn't buy extended warranty coverage. Geek Squad took a look at it 30 min later said my mother board was fried. There was no repair he could do on it, it was un repairable. I couldn't go home without a computer & it wasn't best buys fought but Gateway I was thinking. So we bought a new system & the follow day I took the gateway to a little repair shop & it works just perfect and cost $0 for then to tell me that. The mail power button had stuck, that was it. I did not have the money to buy a new system it put us in a bad spot. After I find out the gateway is working I call best buy tell them my story & how upset Iam that they put me in the spot to buy a new system & another $100 to transfer data. The manager could care less and told me to return the new system, but I wouldn't get a refund on data & re-stock fee. The thing is I said to the manage if I bring in the Geek Squad work order & my old system & you see it works etc. Will you give me a credit for the data transfer in order form me to just keep it and not return? He said "no". So upset with the whole thing I could and will never shop there IDK what sale or they have I want I will go elsewhere and meanwhile the little computer repair place told me this happens a lot. He repairs & looks at computers Geek Squad say are fried. So it must be a rack Best Buys has. Just so sad I love that store but no more. Pissed off in Boca Raton
