Ripoff and wont let me cancel, had to close checking account

Well guess what. Yeap i fell for them too. Here is how it happened. I got a call from Lisa and the Caller ID showed 1-888-2479280. She gave me the whole pitch and i asked one hundred and gazillion question about the whole program, and i was sure i understood the whole thing. Then I for some reason authorized to postdate a ACH payment to be postdated 'til 10/31/03. Actually while i was still on the phone call i was a little skeptical of the whole thing, and started to research online.

I found nothing the whole time that i was on the phone so i thought it was legit. Then i started to search about Credit Card Scams and gave up searching on Liberty Benefits and eventuallty (2 or 3 hours later) i ran across this website. At first i was just amazed at the ripoffs that some companies do, i was reading alot of reports, and thought to search in this website for Liberty Benefits. And Sure enough as soon as i typed it in, it instantly showed up. I read steve's link (FTC) and was amazed and started to get real mad at myself (for letting them trick me), and getting mad at them for actually doing stuff like this.

Since when i found this information was at night time, i couldnt call them (even though i tried) because of their business hours 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. So i decided to wait until today to call. When i called i told them that i wanted to cancel my order and the lady chuckled (loud enough for me to hear) and said that there is no way to cancel an order that was already placed. I asked them How they could do this, and she responded by saying that at the end of your conversation (on the recording part) the verifier says that "this is a non-cancellation" service/program. I then told her that this i wrong, and that she could not trick people like that. She even agreed of them saying one thing at the beggining of the "Agreement" that says that is a non-cancellation program and then they go on to tell you all kinds of good stuff just to make you say "Yes". (which they trick you to agree to everything they want you to agree on). And then she went on to how they cant cancel any order, they are just ther to place them and blah blah blah, basically giving me the run-around.

At least when i talked to her she didnt know who i was because i didnt tell them, i just said that i needed to cancel and we got into the whole conversation. I told her i was going to close my checking account and that i will file complaints with FTC, and Civil Courts if needed. She said go ahead do whatever you feel like doing.

So i went to the bank, closed the account, I am now going through all the trouble of re-setting all of my Direct Deposits and get new checks, just because of their Greed. At least i found this site before they took MY money. I just wished i would have found this site when i was on the phone with them.

What i am afraid of right now, is the fact that they do still have my SSNand personal info. Since i closed my bank account and they wont be able to take the money out, they could possibily send me to collections because of a non-payment.

So if you know how to MAKE SURE I CAN CANCEL THIS ORDER please let me know. Steve, if you are reading this, let me know by posting here the steps you took to cancel their order.
