On October 2, Liberty Benefits attempted an ACH debit of my checking account for $299. Without my permission, and without any knowledge from me - I hadn't talked to this compnay in almost a year, not since the first time they scammed me.
Luckily, I was in the process of closing the account, so there was only $11 in there. If they had put the ACH debit through a couple days earlier, I wouold have really been in trouble.
Attempts to call them proved fruitless. I first started at 1-800-476-4828, where I was asked what company I was calling about, and told to call 1-888-384-7552, where I was told to call 1-888-994-9955, where I was given another number, where I wass given another number, etc...
So apparently even though you've been scammed once, you leave the door open and they aqttempt to scam you again. This compnay, and all of its bastard step children, should be blasted off the face of the earth.
On a lighter note, the State of Illinois and the FTC have apparently sought a temporary restraining order against Liberty Benefits. And I have instructed my wife that, when a similar call is received, to simply say "F*K You" and hang up.
