Complaint / Review
Cybertel Security
Ripoff: unauthorized charge of $299

Around 5/15 I discovered an unauthorized charge on my checking account in the amount of $299.00. I was able to look at the image of the check from my bank, the check was issued by PayByCheck.

The check was neatly printed and had my account number and my bank's routing number printed at the bottom. The check said:
Pay To the Order Of: Cybertel Security%$299.00 US Dollars

Further it stated:
"Pre-authorized check. Authorized by / my name printed/.
Your depositor has authorized this payment to payee.

Digital signature on file."
The MEMO field said: "Benefit package".
The check number is: 0001-3295494
Issued on May 5.

Well the truth is that I have never heard of or from that company before. I was and am not interested in any sort of "benefit package" from unknown vendors. And those people had never contacted me or sent any offers, promotions etc. They just charged my account which I had never authorized.

After discovering that I found this company on http://www.bbb.org

(at the time of writing they could be found here:
http://search. Buffalo. BBB.org/nis/newsearch2.Asp? ID=1&ComID=0041000057102901). I called the number listed on the BBB page: (866) 939-4646. The man on the other end was very polite. When I asked him about the unauthorized charge he told me that "he did not know anything about that" but their company has a return policy of 30 days and if I received the package and didn't like it I could return it in exchange for full refund, no problem.

He cautioned that it might take about 6-8 weeks for the package to arrive. Well I waited till mid-july and finally the package arrived. Since I was not interested in the service or whatever might have been there I bounced the package back (shipped back to sender) via local USPS office. I did not open the package, just dropped it to the USPS facility. Then I called them again and told them that I shipped the package back. The man on the phone (I think it was the same one) was very polite again and advised me to wait for about 6-8 weeks while the package arrives back to Cybertel Security so they can process my refund.

Guess what? I called them on October 13 then 14th, spoke to Mark. He told me that "someone looked into it" but they could not find the package. And since there is no package... There is no refund:-)

End of story?.
