This PRADO company that sells electronic cigaretts is a false and misleading company.
I did an online consumer survey at the end of it they listed 4 items as a thank you for participating as free items you pay only shipping and handeling. One of the items was the electronic cigarett advertised as ECIG4FREE. I looked at the terms and conditions which only stated you had a 10 day trial for the started kit. That you must cancle in that time or you would be charged for refills. I also checked for a customer service number, found it and called it. I asked pacificly what I would be charged for on this and was told only shipping and handeling $9.95, nothing else even if I cancled in the 10 days. I asked when the 10 days started and was told upon reciept of the starter Kit. The Customer Service is only open Monday through Friday so I asked if the 10 days were business days and was told yes as they were closed on weekends. I then ordered the starter kit on 2-26 and was charged on my credit card the $9.95 0n 2-26. The Kit was Recieved on 3-4 (a thursday) there was no paperwork with the kit indicating it had to be returned if cancled or anything about terms and conditions. I called the Customer Service and cancled on 3-8 spoke to a "Jake" who confirmed the cancalation and that I would not be charged anything. I asked if there was a cancelation number to confirm and he said his name was the confermation. Then when I got my Charge card statment for April I found two charges from this company. One for 149.90 and one for 69.90 as this was a saturday I had to wait for monday to call the Customer Service about it.
When I called 4-12 and spoke to an Erin, she said there was no record of the cancelation or the phone call. I told her I spoke to Jake and she said his name was the cancelation confermation. She then said I was past the 10 day trial perion as per the terms and conditions and the charge would not be returned but as I stated Jake had not given me a cancelation number but said his name was the confermation of cancelation she would return the $69.90 charge for the filters when they reiceve them back unopened and gave me an authoration code for the return. I questioned her about when they started using the cancelation codes and she said just 2 weeks ago, that would have been around 4-1 long after I cancled. I asked when they changed the terms and conditions but she would not respond and ended the call. It is very apparent that a lot of people have been cheated out of money on this as they have changed how they do business and what is being said. They also admitted that they do not record the phone calls. The only proof of any conversation is what they decide to type into their computer. I am writing the company about all this too. It is fradulent to tell you that you have a 10 day trial and must cancle by the 10th day if they are not available to take that cancelation. I believe they void their terms and conditions by not being available to take your cancelation as well as counting days from the order date when it takes 7 days to get it and then conveniently the time runs out on a weekend when they are closed. All other companies I have had dealings with on trial periods counted from the date recieved and did not count weekends in the trial period unless their Customer Service was available 7 days a week. The Customer Service also refuses to allow you to speak to a Manager nor will they give the name of the CEO of the company. They refuse to give a last name for identification or an employer id number.
This company purpously misleads the public and customers inorder to cheat them out of money. I beleive this is Fraud and a class action suite should be filed.
