On Sunday October 30 I received a call at home from a woman with a thick accent informing me that I qualified for a government grant of $6,000 because I am low income. The name of the company is GSI, Grant Services, Inc. She told me that in order to get the money I would have to pay a $298 fee which would be withdrawn from my checking account on November 18,2995.
I asked her when I would get the money and she told me November 22 "Right in time for Thanksgiving." I unfortunatley gave my account information to her and was transferred to the Activation representative who supposedly recorded our conversation. I even got a "Confirmation #". After I hung up I called the number that they gave me to Customer Service just in case I had and problems. I got a recording.
I started feeling uneasy about the whole thing and looked the company up on internet. I wasn't too surprised when I saw that there was no website for them but numerous reports from other people warning about this company and the way some of them were actually ripped off of the $298 and never received the "free government grant". I immediately called my bank and informed them of the fraud and froze my account to prevent them from getting the money.
I hope this company can be stopped before they rip anyone else off.
