I got duped, I had to buy new heat and a/c unit for my condo that I am renting, the old one was on the brink. Im deaf, and I had no option at the time to make a make a major purchase but to take their 12 mos interests free promo offer. Before the promo offer expired, the min payment was 12 dollar a month for my revolving purchase, I was paying more than the minimum, sometimes, 50,70 to 100 a month. Then I noticed they were not applying any payments towards the promo offer. I had to call them to request they do this. I was never told to do this, but only to find out when I called when I questioned it. Due to my low income, from slow business in this economy, I m presently looking for another job, but it been quite futile to land another job. After the promo offer expired, I was slapped with a whammy minimum payment to be made of 280 a month. I was told when I called the customer account specalist, they claim there are no program for help since it's a promo offer. I have regretted making a major purchase with them. The contractor they hired to do the installations, there has been many problems with the heat and a./c, by Harmony Heating. I went thru hell, and had to purchase a service contract thur the oil company that delivered the oil, in order for them to repeatly come to the house to repair the unit, there were many problems with it, it went on for a year, more problems started up in Oct of problems with getting no heat, due to pump failing to pump oil from basement to 2nd floor. With the old unit, never had this problem. Now im socked with high finance charge and late fee. I had inquired thru credit counseling agency, they claim I cant get the program due to low income. THey advised me to file bankruptcy. I then met with a lawyer, he told me I did not qualify. I told the customer service at Home Depot about my situation. They still cannot help me. I have to sell my condo now to pay off this Home Depot huge bill which is now over $10,000, The major purchase for heat and a./c unit was $8,975.06, a revolving balance of $862, both at 29.99 apr. Total bill is now $10,004.56Im at my wits end, Im trying so hard to resolve this, but I keep getting a dead end. If I have to sell my condo, that can take a long time to sell, since this economy has been terrible for some time now. Yes, Im between a rock and hard place. If only they would see that im having a hardship, but they insist there are no help. I will never buy a thing from them again!
