HRS Household Services - Roomstore/Best Buy
Unfair credit practices of hrs usa (roomstore & best buy) scam

We bought a furniture from roomstore, with no interest-no monthly for one year. The cost was $1,500. Since we signed an agreement, we expected that at the end of the term HRS will demand full payment of the unpaid balance-because that's our contract. Well, that's not the case.

In paying bills, I just looked at the minimum payment due and expected that at the end of the term, we will be billed the full amount of the unpaid balance.

BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART BECAUSE I'M DEALING WITH HRS USA. We have the money to pay the balance at the end of the term, but since we were not aware because the minimum payment due was still $0.00 at the end of the promo period, I paid half of the amount owe at that time, $500.00.

Now, we were charged additional $539.60 (including interest from the disputed interest). I called and made a request for interest abatement, well, I WAS DEALING WITH HRS USA... Tsk. Tsk. So it my request was rejected.

Now, about Best Buy. When you buy something under a promo no-interest for a period of time, there is a monthly minimum fee (different from Roomstore, no monthly minimum).

But if you did make 2 purchases from Best Buy on different times, one purchase under no-interest fee, and the other was a regular purchase, HRS will apply your monthly payments to the purchase with "no-interest promo", instead of the one that accumulates interest.

So if you don't want to be charged interest, be sure to pay off your "no-interest" balance so HRS USA will then apply your next payments to one that charges interest.

This one I noticed when we purchased a computer (no interest, but with monthly minimum) and then we made another purchase that charges interest.

Well, since the minimum payment was $25 for the computer, my payment was always more than $25, expecting that HRS will apply the rest to the other purchase, because what's the benefit of taking the non-interest promo if you will pay it off ahead of the other that charges interest.

Well, your guess is as good as mine. This is the reason why we just decided to pay-off all the balance before the maturity of the computer's "no interest for 6 months".

Initially, I was thinking of just letting these things go. But after reading others' stories about HRS, I noticed a trend here.

It seems they are conducting their business making sure that consumers will fall behind their schedules, in short, they are acting in BAD FAITH.

I hope someone will stand up and make a case for us, because this gives corporate America a bad name.
