I purchased a Christmas gift for my wife at a site that offered Fedex as a guarantee for a December 24 delivery.
I thought, "FedEx?! I am impressed. I rested assured that all would be and that I'd have nothing to worry about.
Today is December 24th and this morning I tracked my package (a blouse and a vest). Th Fedex site indicated that my package arrived at 11:00 at the Fedex station near my home... Approx. 15 minutes away.
I had errands to run so I enlisted my son into remaining at home to receive the package. When I learned that it had not arrived (2 pm), I again checked the site and then called to use the tracking tool. Again I learned that my package was near my home but the site indicated in transit so I assumed it was enroute to my home.
5 pm... No package. 6 pm (canceled Chritsmas Eve services to wait for my wife's gift) no package. I telephoned and use the old press 0 trick to get a live person who agreed to connect me to the site near my home. It was then that i was informed that:
1. My package would not be delivered
2. I could have picked it up myself after it arrived at 11 am!!!
3. The wold be opened on Christmas day but I woudl have to venture out to get it myself!!!
I am so ngry I could spit. My experiences with UPS and the Postal Service was an extremely positive one. I will tell everyone I can that if you need it overnight, use another service or just walk it there... It'll stand a better chance of arriving on time than if you use Fedex!
