First, the NTTA roads are ALREADY PAID FOR. There needs to be a movement to take the toll booths down. This is similar to the I-30 situation in which that road was a tollway. 10 years after the road was paid for, tolls were still being charged. Since violations are a STATE law, then this is road should adhere to the state laws as well. Right now, it is legal to charge people up to $100 per $1.50 toll if it goes to violation. There are many ways to get hung up in the system. 1) They go through the pictures of automobiles manually. THEN they invoice them. This means an invoice from 3 months ago can go into violation and you won't get it in time to avoid violation fees. 2) They sometimes "forget" to send the late violation notice and that is another way to collect violation fees. It's your word against theirs if you dont get the violation notice. 3) Sometimes the toll booths are not operational. After they become operational, you could be charged fees. Again, your word against theirs. 3) Information is not consistent when you call customer service, or go visit them. You may get different answers each time you call, which keeps you in a state of confusion. 4) If you want anything in writing, they will not willingly give it to you. It took me 15 minutes to get a one page print out of terms and conditions of paying violation fees. The most I got was a supervisor (cuz the rep wouldnt do it) and he just put a handwritten note with the amount owed. I had to ask him to sign his name. 5) If you exhibit free speech, and state that you "no longer will be using these services and other people should do the same" a security guard will be called and you could possible be arrested for "public disturbance". They've hurt enough people and gotten enough money from hurting people. Let's mobilize.
