My Nightmare with Sauls Motor Company began on January 28. On this day my husband and I were happily searching through the autos frequently listed on Craigslist. I happened to find a blue Crew Cab 2008 Chevorlet Silverado listed by Sauls Motor Company that immediately caught my eye. I enthusiastically called the phone number listed in the add and spoke with Derrick, who graciously took all of my information and invited us to the dealership that very day. We ended up taking to the road headed to Smithfield from Raleigh where we reside. Long story short we eneded up purchasing or "SO WE THOUGHT" a 2008 chevy silverado after dropping a 2,400 downpayment. We were congratulated signed our contract and happily headed back to Raleigh with our four beautiful children excited about our new purchase. The days after our nightmare really began. We were contacted two days after our "purchase" by the bank who supposedly financed our loan requesting additional information, although we thought this was quite strange we took time from our daily working schedules to comply. The run around was quite hectic because they wanted so much information im surprised they didnt ask for the fingerprints of my first born! After much chaos we were notified by the BANK that they would not finance our loan after being told continuously by Sauls that this is all we need for about three days. We were told by Josh the Sales Manager that we would have to return the vehicle. No problem right because of course we could and would not continue to drive a vehicle we added to our insurance, made a downpayment on and thought we would eventually own if the BANK would not finance us even though it was parked in our lovely driveway for 11days. Little did we know we would be told that we WERE NOT ENTITLED TO OUR HARD EARNED MONEY (THE DOWNPAYMENT), and they wouldNOT refund our money! The only explanation we heard was "its not us" its the bank. The bank did not accept my downpayment Sauls Motor Company did. Well who the hell is it and who can we speak to, but of course noone had an answer. My husband and I nearly lost our minds. We were trying to figure out how on GODS GREEN earth these idiots could justify keeping our money when we returned the vehicle they failed to secure financing for. After much screaming and yelling there was nothing we could do but hop in our charger and drive off before things got uglier. It has since been almost a month and we have contacted several sources who have never heard of such happening. My husband has made numerous attempts to phone management and I use the term loosely only to be told someone will call you back and even "we have no record" of this, and we never receive a call. We even asked to speak with the GM who must be a ghost because they wont supply any contact info so im assuming its one of the coniving individuals that greets you when you enter the business. Yes my blood boils as I type. Of course I have since filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau along with the other 7 filed against this shady "business" and from what ive read I wish I had checked the BBB before I gave my 2,400 away to these people. Yesterday 2/24/10 my husband tirelessly phoned to find out who we could speak to and how they could possibly justify keeping our money after providing NO SERVICE to us. He was told the "GM" would be in by Derrick or "heavy" as he's affectionately called, and would contact us when he arrived. Guess what NO ONE called. So as any red blooded individual would do he continued to phone only to be lied to and even hung up on! My husbands final phone call was made at 6pm, which to my understanding is Quitting time, to be told, you wont get your money back but we will PUT you in a vehicle, "Heavy" even had the gall to ask my husband do you have a receipt for that. I was in sheer disbelief. Guess what we certainly do have a receipt, and records of all telephone calls and most importantly a signed contract! Who the hell do they think they are, "put me in a vehicle", i was so upset i actually cried like i'd lost a close family member. if this is how they operate they can sell the same vehicle a million times and it would never leave the lot! We selected the only vehicle we wanted to be "put in " on January 28th when we gave them our hard earned money, signed a contract, added said vehicle to our insurance... You get the point. LIE after LIE after LIE. So here we are having to spend money for an attorney to obtain what is RIGHTFULLY OURS. I have been so depressed about this situation and would not wish my worst enemy to have dealings with this business to be treated like this. I just want to tell my story to everyone who is listening. I will not stand for this and WILL GET MY MONEY BACK, even though I'm forced to spend time and money to do so. One would think Sauls Motor Company would try to make this right but unfortunately when you deal with crooks what else would you expect. Thank you for listening, headed to post my story everywhere.
