The only science to Magic Jack is the installation of the USB adapter and the registration.
I did find a couple of problems such as: Bad quality on the line, which was resolved by changing the computer (XP 760MB Celeron 1.4); and dropping calls, which was resolved by configuring my router properly (the firewall was dropping the calls)
Ever since, my service has been great. We now use Magic Jack as our main phone, and I use the fax a lot.
I recommend this product with the understanding that you might have to do some work to get it working properly. For $20 a year vs traditional line ($40), I can do the work.
