Sold us a truck with a bad motor & knew it, it was a friend of used car manager's truck in

I bought a 2006 F-250 11/11/09 from Acura of Orange Park. I live in Georgia & was more than willing to make the trip to Jacksonville to purchase this truck, being this is what I was looking for.

When my wife & I arrived at Acura the truck was being detailed, then it was brought out me me to look at & test drive. The truck was beautiful, but it ran like crap. The saleman (James) told me the truck was almost out of fuel, so we limped to the nearest fuel stop & put $50 worth of diesel in it & got back on the road. After about 5 minutes of it spitting & sputtering, it cleared up, so I assumed it being almost out of fuel was the reason it acted the way it did & the saleman had told us the truth. We came back to the lot & started asking questions about the truck & asked for a carfax report. This is when Mark (used car manager) came in the mix. He told us the truck belonged to his fishing buddy & the truck was in immaculate shape & had no problems out of the truck. Well that would later prove to be the big fish story of the day. James said he would stand behind the truck & would give us 60 day warranty on the truck & if I had any problems with the truck I could return it, no questions asked.

I bought the truck & drove home to Georgia, the next morning I cranked the truck & it acted the same way, spitting & sputtering & had no power. This went on until the truck warmed up. I then changed the oil & all the filters (oil, fuel & air). The fuel filter looked as if it had never been changed. After this the truck still ran horrible. So I took the truck to Roberts Truck Center in Garden City, GA for them to look at it. They diagnosed the truck as having bad injectors. Roberts suggested replacing all injectors & the fuel pump & provided Acura with a estimate of the it would cost. I spoke with Mark & James at Acura & explained what was going on, they agreed to pay for one injector to be replaced & then for me to bring the truck back to Jacksonville, so Ford in Jacksonville could check it out. I waited 4 days for a check to be sent to Roberts. I was lied to for 3 days in a row as to when the check would be sent out. So after the truck was released I took the truck back to Jacksonville. Ford in Jacksonville cleaned the water/fuel seperator & said the truck ran fine. I explained he needed to put the truck on the computer when it was cold & he would see the problem. When Ford put it on the computer the next day, they ended up replacing 3 more injectors. This took almost a week to be done. After it was repaired I picked the truck up & drove it home.

As soon as I drove into my town a light came on (ETC), I looked in the owners manual & seen this meant the truck was in limp home mode. Since this I have tried several things to repair the truck, but it still runs like crap & the engine light remains on at all times. The truck has no power, smokes & has a strange smell in the cab coming from the motor. We have taken the truck back to Roberts several times, they are wanting to replace the remaining 4 injectors to see if this will fix the problem. The mechanic said the smell in the cab is not a postive sign, this sounds as if the truck is begining to crack the head. If this is the case I will be forced to replace the motor, this is at least a $10,000 job. Just replacing the injectors will be around $3000. This absurd for a truck I have had for less than 3 months & has been acting up since the day I bought it.

I tried in november to return the truck, but James told me I could not return the truck & we were stuck with it. Even though he told us we had 60 days to return it. I was just able to buy the tag for the truck. It took over 60 days to receive the title information, then I had to call & request the additional tax that we paid to be sent back to us.

Nothing about this has been a smooth process, from the purchase of the truck, the tag & the repairs. This has been a embarrassing & dishonest business deal. I have been lied to on several occasions. I currently have a truck I purchased less than 3 months ago sitting in my driveway, unable to drive. I have tried on several occasions to contact the general manager, but I never received a call back. I have even emailed him, but gotten no response.

Do not ever buy anything from Acura of Orange Park, they will lie to you to sell a vehicle & then go back on their word after you buy it.
