I got this letter in the mail with no return address and a stamp from Canada. I opened it to find a letter and a check. The letter was from Mutual Specialties Inc in Canada, and the letter attached said I had won $250,000 in some sweepstakes held on January 5. This was my "cut" from a $5 million dollar pool and my name was picked along with 19 others. The check attached was for $3980.00 which was the amount needed to pay the taxes on my winnings. Of course, it asks that I NOT deposit the check until I contact my claim agent within 5 business days so they can "further clarify." The phone number is a Canada number, which I am NOT calling. The check is from TERNES PROCUREMENT SERVICES 12285 dixie street Redford Michigan 48239... Strange? Isn't the company in Canada? Check looks legit with a correct numbers, dates and all my info as well as the back info Comerica Bank, and even has the watermark. Still, this companies new scam is a letter that states "PRICE WINNING MONEY/FINAL NOTIFICATION.' I do not plan on cashing this check, instead sending in to my local authorities, and hope no other people get scammed.
