Part of a fax to Redbox regarding now actual charges to bank account. "I am enclosing copies of my receipts and bank statements proving that you have unjustifiably and illegally placed 3 holds on my bank account for three allegedly unreturned DVD’s. Now I understand that you have incurred insurmountable loss of fee income because of the system failure on January 6, but to create and falsely accuse myself and perhaps many others with false charges for unreturned DVD's is contemptible. The attached copy of my bank transactions will show you that I was charged for only one day of rental for the following movies rented on 12/29: CarriersExtractThe Hangover
Please note that your disclosure statement of “If you keep any or all of the discs for additional nights, redbox will charge you for all the additional nights once every disc from your rental transaction is returned. You will get one more receipt that shows the additional charges” was not an issue for it shows that I was charged only for the above DVD's on 12/30 but nothing beyond that day showed further charges up to 01/04/10 was assessed.By enclosing copies of the 3 holds on my account for $25.98 without provocation is an example of a desperate attempt to get back loss income, and a discredit on your company’s part. What do you think I should get from this? Did you do this to others? Should I get on the World Wide Web and see if anyone else has gotten the same treatment? I do believe that this entire event has me so livid that I want to warn others! My time is worth something, and it is my expectation that you to deliver immediate results concerning this issue. If these charges of $ 77.94 actually come to fruition on my account, I will most assuredly seek legal representation and charge you to the furthest extent allowed by law."
