I purchased a Scanjet last week and when attempting to install the software I got a error1935 message. I contacted HP support to resolve the issue. The techs linked up to my laptop and did various things which I'm not familiar with, but they did delete part of my Avast antivirus software. After 2 days of attempting to resolve this issue it was suggested I return the Scanjet as it was probably defective. It seemed clear to me this thing was a software issue, but what do I know. When I went to turn my Avast back on it would not respond. After a few more issues with that I deleted the whole program and downloaded the whole program again. When I attempted to install that I received yet another message of "side by side config". I contacted HP support again, to no avail. The suggestion was to do a restore point, risk some of my data, (I don't have a way to save it nor do I think I should. My immediate problem is I have no antivirus and can't risk getting into some sensitive accounts online. HP support has been of no help and offers no reasonable solutions. I would appreciate any help at this point that would not involve spending more money.
