Our sears water softener stopped working and we called Sears. The repairman came and charged us $69 for the service call and told us that the softener had a hard crust of salt on the bottom of the softener. He told us to use hot water to dissolve the salt and handed us a bill for $127. When asked what the other 60 charge was for he did not answer. I refused to pay the additional $60 since the unit was not repaired. I paid for the service call and feel that the additional charge was uncalled for since the unit was not repaired. We still have a water softener that is not working.
