My subscription to Cards Magazine was renewed automatically even after I told them not to renew it.
As promised, they did send me an email right before my subscription to CARDS magazine was expiring. They asked if I was interested in renewing my subscription. I was very specific in at least 2 emails, stating that I was NOT interested in renewing the subscription. I even went as far as to explain why I was not going to renew. The person responded that they understood and I thought that would be the end of that. This all happened back in the beginning of the year.
I did renew my subscription to Scrapbook Trends however. With that specific renewal, it came with a free 6 month subscription to the "special issues" magazines. This renewal was confirmed in March. To date, I have only received 2 "special issues" magazines, which would roughly equate to 1/2 of what I am due.
And, shock of all shocks, as of June, I have started to receive CARDS magazine again without any warning or approval by me! The paper that is included in the overwrap states that my subscription will expire in December. How can this be when I was so specific with my desire to NOT renew that subscription???
In going back over my credit card bills, I noticed that the charge went through simultaneously as the renewal of my scrapbook trends renewal fee, but on a different credit card. I didn't immediately notice it because the bills come at different times and I just assumed the charge was for the subscription that I had wanted. I obviously should have paid better attention.
I am not happy with them and will plan to call them. I will update this report accordingly. I just wanted others to know that even when you tell them that you don't want to renew, they still go ahead and charge you without your authorization and renew you anyway. Somehow, this just isn't right!!!
I am curious to see if this has happened with anyone else. Also, has anyone else had trouble receiving the "special issue" magazines?
