Poor Customer Service - Pharmacy, drug program

Poor Customer Service in the Pharmacy Dept. At the Corona, CA. Store on Ontario.

On Wed., Nov. 12, I dropped off my prescriptions for refill in the Pharmacy Dept. I always tell the clerk that I will pick them up in several days. This is so he can identify any problems (i.E. Need to call DR. Etc.) before I need them. If problems are identified, I can clear them up immediately.

I went to the Pharmacy on Sat. Nov. 15. I was told then that my Insurance was cancelled and I had no coverage for the cost of my Spiriva ($194.00). I already knew that my place of employment was in the process of changing carriers. So, this was really not a surprise. I would simply have to call my H.R. Dept to have this straightened out. But NOT on Saturday or Sunday. I would have to wait until Monday to start the process. And the way the system works, it probably would not be worked out until Tuesday. On Saturday, this was NO consulation, since I was out of my prescription NOW.

I was so mad. I asked, why, like any other Pharmacy such as SaveOn or CVS, was I not called on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday so that this could be straightened out on a business day???
It was now Saturday. What could I do on Saturday??? They could not give me an answer.

I left the cart and the items that I was going to purchase in the aisle and left the store.

On Monday, I called my H.R. Dept. And they were able to re-activate my insurance on Tuesday. I was then able to fill my precription at the CVS Pharmacy down the street.

Needless to say, I was without my medication on Sat., Sun., and Mon. And my breathing suffered for it. Thank God, it was for my lungs and not my heart medication. As I noted in another complaint on this site, how many deaths will be attributed to WalMart's Pharmacies poor service before they realize that their Phamacy Depts. Are a health hazard. Today, any pharmacy can match their $4.00 perscription program. There is no need to endure the atrocious Customer Service at WalMart when you can get the same discounts on drugs, plus excellent customer service at CVS. I have vowed that I will never go to a WalMart store again. And this is a shame. I purchase a majority of my food, paper goods, personal items and clothing (White Stag, NoBo, Dr. Scholls, O.P. And Hanes) from WalMart. From now on, I will be shopping at CVS and Target for the same items at the same price.

In this day, with the economy as bad as it is, no store (including WalMart) can afford to lose customers. And believe me, just as any other disgruntled customer, I will tell anyone who will listen (shout it from the house tops), how poor the customer service is at WalMart. I don't think I would have been as passionate when it came to a TV or a DVD player. But when it comes to my HEALTH that's a different story.
