Bride and Groom left outside with no ride to reception

If you want to rent a Limo for a special event. DO NOT use Award Transportation Services AKA Award Limo in Dallas, Texas. Here is my Father-in-Law's version of what happend on my wedding day on May 30th:

"I found Award Transportation Services (Award Limo) online. On 4/23 I called the phone number provided on their web-site. I spoke with one of their employees, Aaron Addison. This was for a wedding transfer from Garland to Richardson, 6.5 miles on May 30 at 1:00. Aaron agreed to do the transfer for $110.00. We were to pay the driver directly, but I gave a valid credit card number to reserve the limo. This confirmation was all done on Aaron's e-mail '[email protected]'. I sent an e-mail a few days before the wedding just to confirm that reservation, but I got no response. I figured perhaps he was just unavailable. I called the morning of the wedding and left a message. Jared returned my call and told me there was no reservation in their system. He then informed me that Aaron, who answered the phone when I called the phone number on the web-site, was cheating the company and was fired. He then commences to tell me that it is not the company's fault, and there was nothing he could do. Our reservation was for 1:00 and his one and only car was due in Ft. Worth at 2:15. The only other car they had was their sedan that was in the shop. He said he could not have even done the run for the $110.00 that was agreed upon in writing. I told him I needed a limo at 1:00 for the agreed upon price, and I did not care how he got it there. I told him to call another limo company if he had to, as I know they share fares when they cannot take a booking themselves. He explained they are a small company, and could not afford the hit. Their web-site however, claims to have several luxury sedans, a stretch limo, and stretch Hummer, a couple of party vans, and a luxury coach. He finally said he would check and see what he could do. He called back a little while later and said that, again, he could not provide us the 'agreed in writing' limo. I told him to call and get me a limo and I will pay any difference, just get me a limo (and by the way, while I am arguing with him, my son and his bride are in the middle of their ceremony, I missed most of the wedding because I had to argue with Jared). He finally called back around 1:30 and said he could have a sedan at the church in about 20 minutes for the same price as the limo that was agreed to. I told him that it was too late, as we were ready to leave right then. I told him I wanted to speak to the owners, but he said they were unavailable until Monday. He promised he would get me in touch with them on Monday, 6/1/09. Well, Monday rolls around, and no call. I called their official phone number and Jared's direct phone number, but I guess he recognized my phone number and just let me go to voicemail. He never returned my call. When I called him from a different number, he answered right away, because he was thinking he had a fare. He then tells me he was not available most of the day. Is this a company you want to do business with? I guess anyone who needed his services on 6/1/09 was just tough out of luck. And now he says the owners are on vacation until Thursday. Bottom line; do not use this company if you really want your transportation to be there when you need it."

In the mean time, I was late to my reception, and I had to ride there in my Husband's Aunt's SUV. When my Father-In-Law got in touch with the owner today, he said "screw you", and "take me to court." We filed with the BBB, so maybe this guy will grow a set and at least apologize. I can't believe they still wanted to charge us after all of our trouble. On top of that, my FIL saved a copy of the agreement and faxed it to the company (so they knew we were not making it up, but they didn't care), and I provided my valid credit card number and the 3 digit number on the back to reserve my spot to the guy who was apparently fired. I have since canceled the card for fear of a fraudulent charge.

I think this may be similar to the "Bait and Switch" scam on another report about this company, by them offering to send a Sedan instead of the limo for the same price ($110).

Quoting Ed V.:

Aaron, It was great talking with you. I really appreciate you working with us. The wedding is May 30th at 12 noon, so I figure if the limo can be there at 1:00 we should be good. And as we discussed, here is a credit card to hold the reservation, and we will pay $110.00 cash to the driver.

The address of the church and country club are: Arapaho Road Baptist Church 2256 Arapaho Rd. Garland, Tx. 75044

Canyon Creek Country Club 625 W. Lookout Rd. Richardson, Tx. 75080

Here is the credit card. It is a Visa. The name on the card is XXXX X XXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-9621 09/25 915

I will look for the coupon you mentioned. Have a great day!
