Just called me out of the blue after 5:30 PM. (caller ID said unknown caller) that ALWAYS makes me Leary. Anyway the guy says he is an investigator for the company (CII) and he has found out that this girl (he called her by name) has 3 bank accounts with enough money in them to pay us what she owes us ($660) plus interest which adds up to $1125. They can take her to court on Monday (Today is Friday mind you) but it will cost $750. For the Attorney. Oh and we will get it all back. I'm not remembering signing up with them so I start asking questions plus the amount sounded odd to me. He says I signed up 3-26-08 I said how do you know this he said I sent an invoice. I said I don't remember, what is the date of service so I can verify it. He says he doesn't have it in front of him. Smelling a scam in progress he says do you have a fax I said the fax line isn't working, then he says do you have an email address I said YES he then asked do you have a scanner I said it's not working. I said my printer, fax, scanner all in one is not working. I asked why he needs a scanner. So he says so I can scan a check and email it to them. I then asked him to mail it to me because I wouldn't pay that way. I would use a credit card for my protection, which I do not get any protection paying by check. I asked again to mail it to me he said they don't do that, I said I need it writing. He put me on hold a minute or two. Came back saying he would email me. I said but you didn't ask me for my email address, he said he has it in my file. Uh hun yeah right, why did he ask me if I had one? Needless to say NO EMAIL came.
Woo Hoo!!! I got over on them for a change.
You get no protection when you allow someone to take money out of your bank account with your account number or a check!!!
