I recently ordered a new Garmin GPS from this company as they had the lowest price on line. I ordered with no problem and then received an email today asking that I call to verify my order. When I called, he said that I forgot to order my SD card at which time I told him I didn't want one. He said (talking miles a minute) that the cards for 1 GB is 169.00 and 2 GB is 269.00 and he is matching the cost of local dealers (duh... Does he think I'm done). When I told him "NO" he then tried to sell me a package deal, hiking my price from 429.00 to $700.00.
I finally told him that I did not want any accessories, just send the GPS. He told me that the Garmin will NOT WORK AT ALL without these SD cards. I've owned a Garmin for quite a few years and know that this information is false. I told him to cancel my order in which case he then tried to sell me packages, which of course, were even more money. I realize I could have simply insisted on just getting the GPS but from other complaints, it looks like they would have told me that they were out of stock, anyway. My concern is that they have my credit card information, etc. Fortunately, I escaped this scam but would like to warn others of their unethical practices.
