I moved here from alabama. Waited too long to get power changed over into my name. I had a lot of things going on with the move and i forgot. I came home from work in 30 degree weather last tuesday night and my power was out. Then i realized i didint get it put in my name yet. I oculdnt get anything done that night because they were closed. My son was freezing so i had soemone cut it back on until the next morning. First thing the next day i called to find out whta i needed to do to get the power put in my name and turned back on. They said 675.00.. So i have no other option for power in this area. It was freezing and i couldnt let my son freeze. If it was just me i could have dealt with it. How in the heck can people be expected to come up with 675.00 for a deposit. I mean i dont make that much in a week. So, i do not have power. And i wont have it until next friday when i get paid. I cannot believe that a company can get aaway with this kind of thing. I mean, power is pretty much necessary. How can thye be allowed to do this??? Especially when we have no other options for electricity. I am at a loss as to what to do. I have no way to get the money until i get paid and i have no electricity!!! Do i have any rights concerning this??? Please help or give me soem advice or direction. I do not know where to turn. I dont even know if i am complaining to the right person but i dont know what else to do. My number is 601-862-9226 if you can tell me anything.
