On Monday April 21st, my wife and I took our son to the East Ridge 'Family' Restaurant @ 1925 E. Ridge Rd.in Irondeqoit, NY (A Rochester, NY suburb) After a few minutes we were seated. A few minutes later a waitress came to take our drink order. A couple of minutes go by and she brings our drinks with the wrong drink order for my son and takes our order.
About 15 minutes have passed by now and other people who came in around the same time that we did are starting to get their food. Several minutes go by before she brings our son's correct drink order out and she's not very pleasant.
After another few minutes and two tables of people get their food that came in AFTER us, my wife calls to the waitress as she was going by to inquire as to whether our order was put in. She said yes and that she would check on it. She came by twice in 5-7 minute intervals after my wife inquired to tell us that it was being worked on.
After seeing the people across from us that had come in about the same time that we did finish their breakfast, I asked to speak to the manager. The waitress then informed me that the mgr. / owner was too busy in the back to come up to talk with us.By this time we're wondering if the fact that we're the only African American family in the restaurant has anything to do with our not receiving service.
After almost 45 minutes and still no food, we decide to leave and I asked the waitress for the check which she goes to get and then tels not to worry about the drinks that we could just go.
My wife then asks to speak to the manager again who this time was near the front as we were leaving and told her that they were very busy. She needed to get back to the back so other people wouldn't have to wait longer for their food and the fact that we were black had nothing to do with us not being served but, she had no good explanation as to why we weren't served and other people were other than 'they were busy'. She offered no apology or no attempt ot make it a tolerable situation.
