Diilard's Department Stores, Inc
Unethical No Moral Courage Dishonest Las Vegas

I did a little research on DDS, Inc and found out a few things about their financial dealings; What company has TWO classes of stocks? In the last ten years, this company's worth has plummeted 94%, from 4.36 BILLION U.S. Dollars to 246 MILLION U.S. Dollars. When Bill Dillard, II saw fit to impose an SPH on each sales associate around ten years ago, and cut their pay if they didn't comply, this company lost a lot of good people. A good employer does not do that to their people. Last I read, the shareholders, who control the Class A stocks, want the Dillard siblings, who control the Class B stocks, out of the company because they are running it into the ground. Right now times are tough and DDS are closing under-performing stores. The people from those closed stores are sent to the remaining locations to impose on the associates employed at the remaining stores.

I worked for DDS for seven months and never missed a day of work. I even got an 'Atta Boy' from the CEO (a day off with pay). My managers knew sales in my department weren't great, but, never said anything except what a good job I was doing. I never lurked in other associate's departments to steal sales to make my SPH and I kept my department looking good. Whenever I saw other associates lurking in other departments to intercept sales, it really made me upset to think that DDS only cares about numbers and not good work ethics, loyalty, or reliability.

Last Friday I was terminated, without warning, because of my sales. My pay was never cut, I was never written up, and just a day ago my ASM told me I was going to work in Men's Urbanwear on Monday to boost my sales. The day I was terminated, my ASM was off, how convenient. I still stay in touch with the friends I made there, and they tell me they hate DDS because I'm not there to keep the morale up.

I'm wondering if DDS wil be able to meet their payroll the end of next month. There are a lot of things the management is not telling their associates about the financial peril this company is in. Before I was terminated I noticed the tension at an all-time high on the sales floor, not to mention the vacant look in the eyes of the store management. I refused to let this company's practices dampen my enthusiasm and I was terminated because I refused to step on people's toes to make my sales. DDS never got their oily fingers on my soul, don't let them do this to you.
