Scott Allen of Allen North Property management has stopped paying child support and claims that it is because he is now self-employed. Allen, former manager of the McMenamin's Kennedy School, moved to Ashland from Portland 3 years ago and did not notify his one and only daughter, who was 7 years old at the time. His child support payments were made during his employemnt with McMenamins because the state garnished his wages. He is now claiming that his property-management "business" precludes him from making payments, yet he manages to travel, ski and support the woman who lives with him. After more than a year of no contact whatsoever, Allen attempted to contact his daughter via e-mail. When she chose not to engage, he again stopped paying child support, raged out at her and me and refuses to discuss the matter or return e-mail inquiries as to the child support status. Are these the personal or business ethics of someone you want manageing your property? I question his business practices and competence.
