In August of this year, I chose to allow WindStream to be my internet, t.V. And cable provider in anticipation of my move to Kentucky. The bundle package seemed attractive enough, so that's what I chose. Within a day or two, the home phone service was connected along with a promise that the internet and DishTV would follow within days.

Three weeks later, still no DishTV nor internet were in my home. All I had to show for my deposit was a home phone. I subsequently called a different provider company in my area and requested their phone, internet and t.V. Bundle. I was very pleased with their package and they had me connected that VERY day. I then called NewWave to cancel my contract with them. This was done very quickly enough and included the agreement from their CSR that my deposit would be refunded. Within ten business days, my money was credited back to my bank account.

Now here is where the story turns very ugly. I have since that time, which has been three months, been getting bills which have now surmounted to almost $500.00 for services I never did obtain. I never had access to the internet provided by WindStream, I never had television service from DishTV as provided through WindStream, and only for about 4 weeks did I have phone service with them. There was absolutely NO technician who ever knocked at my door from WindStream to even hook up these services for t. V or internet. Yet per the CSR from them, WindStream states they can bill me for such because I never called to cancel the service. If I didn't call to cancel, then pray tell how I got my deposit back?

I'm at a loss and am beating a dead horse with these people. If anyone can explain to me how a company can bill you for services that you never had, nor that you physically signed for the installation of, I'll eat my hat. With what now amounts to three phone calls to their customer service department, and rudely being told that it would be immediately put upon my credit report for failure to pay, I am throwing in the towel as far as trying to rectify this terrible situation with them. They are unbending and refuse to listen to reason.

I will NOT pay almost $500.00 for something which I never received. I admitted that I indeed owed for one month of phone service, yet the rep would not accept payment for the lesser amount. I cannot afford legal council, and this company knows that the average "joe" can't. Until the FCC gets involved, I fear that this may also happen to someone else.

Beware of WindStream Communications. They'll rip you off in a heart beat. I think the Lord that when I moved, I had to switch banking institutions, thus giving them no current debit card information. I'm sure they would try to pirate my bank account for the balance they say I owe had that not been the case.
