On November 16, I ordered a Britax Marathon Convertible car seat on www.target.com. It was listed at $42.99 with free shipping. The regular price for this seat is $279.99, so I was thrilled to find such a great price. I received an email confirmation of my order, with a planned delivery date in mid-late December. On November 17, I had a completely new message in my inbox - this one to let me know they had canceled my order due to a pricing issue on their end. Someone had mis-priced the item on the website and they simply could not sell me the car seat at the price I had seen.
I emailed Guest Services, asking what kind of discount they were going to give us on the same car seat. The answer was that they wouldn't provide any compensation to those who ordered the seat, even though it was their mistake that caused the entire problem.
Target needs to come through for these customers. It's posted everywhere in Target stores that they value their "Guests." If they truly value us, or even if they only want to do some damage control, they need to do SOMETHING. Sell us the seat at the price we ordered at, give us a steep discount, give us a gift card. Target needs to stand up and do something. It wasn't our fault that they priced their item incorrectly, yet it seems we are the ones being punished.
