GoPhone Customer Service - AT & T Wireless

AT&T Wireless GoPhone Customer Service is terrible.

I lost my GoPhone phone, and I want to purchase a new phone and transfer my old number and balance to the new phone. Sounds simple enough, right?

However, customer service said that I could either go to an AT&T store to by an unactivated phone or purchase a new phone from AT&T.com and then call customer service back and they would activate with my old number and balance.

The store said that they could not sell me an unactivated phone at the reduced price, but would charge me an extra $75. The online site would not allow me to buy an unactivated phone. I called customer service back, and they said that I could call the online sales and tell them the story and they would give me send me an unactivated phone. I did this, but they said that I would need to contact yet another department.

I did, but they said that it wasn't possible. The rude customer service rep said that I would have to go to a store to purchase one - I told her the story, but she said "Listen to what I am saying" blah, blah, blah...

I've had terrible trouble with AT&T before - anytime I have to actually do something with customer service, it is a disaster. Perhaps it is time for me to try a different wireless carrier.
