A Van Lines - AAA Van Lines
A worst ever experience with Moving Company - A Company with full of Frauds

We hired "A van lines movers", a Norcross company to move our household stuff to Tampa, FL from Lawrenceville, Ga. Nick from A Van Lines, visited our house for an estimate. He gave us an estimate of $1700 at first, after the negotiations and emphasis to close the contract right then and there; I was offered $1500 for the complete move. I rendered my personal check of $100 as deposit to book the move and bind in contract. It was a hand written contract and upon asking to get me a copy, I was told that his office will send me an email copy. Email copy said an estimate, which made me confuse. I replied to the email to confirm whether the price I was quoted is still an estimate or a confirmation. I got a reply that it is a confirmation. I have the copy of the email. Pick up date was Friday, Oct 24th. On Oct 24th, movers showed up in the morning to load up. I gave another $700 of money order before loading the stuff per contract and balance will be due at the time of delivery. They loaded all our stuff and left. Upon asking several times that when my stuff will be in Tampa, I was told every time that they don't know yet, they will let us know by phone. Saturday, Oct 25th, in the morning I received a call from Nick saying that my stuff weighs more than expected. The price has changed and now it will cost us $3800 to move my stuff to Tampa. That shocked me. I went to his office to discuss and everything flipped. I asked to show me the hand written contract that I had signed on the day when Nick came for an estimate. They said they discarded it because it has no use since everything is in computer. I kept arguing to stay on the price I was quoted a price based on move not based on weight, but they did not listened. They insisted that either take the delivery back or pay the price. They were very rude and unprofessional in fact they cursed me out couple times. Well, I was out of the house and the stuff and had no choice. We made another deal that to agree on $2800. $800 was already paid; balance of $2000 will be paid at the time of delivery. We made another agreement to do flat price contract of $2800. This time I made them clear that tomorrow, i.E. Sunday October 26th, I am leaving for Tampa with my family to get the new house keys and shall be waiting for movers. I was told that it should be fine.in fact I was told that I will get a call from office to confirm it. I never received any call rather I made few calls and I was yelled that driver will call me. Sunday at 6:30am in the morning me, my wife and our 2 year old daughter left for Tampa. On half way I called them to confirm if the movers are on their way to Tampa. I was told that yes. We reached Tampa around 3pm. I called several times to Nick's cell 770-900-1010 and nobody answered. Finally around 4 pm driver called and said that he just left for Tampa and it will be too late in the night to finish the delivery. I forced him to come to Tampa because I had nothing to sit, sleep or do anything. I had no stuff. He said he will try.in evening again I started called driver but there was no answer. Around 8pm driver calls again and says that he can't make it Tampa that night so he will come tomorrow, He promised that he will come between noon and 1 pm. Our frustration was sky high and I had lost all my tolerance level. We had no choice but to stay in hotel. We stayed in hotel and spent extra $150 for one night. Next morning, I called again and there no response. Driver calls me around 1pm that he is 30 mins away. Mover shows up at 4pm. They were only two skinny guys; they barely can lift any heavy box. They demanded payment before unloading. I refuse to do that because I wanted to make sure my stuff in same condition and nothing is missing since my stuff is out on the road for 2 days. Office called me and shouted on me to pay the driver otherwise they will take the truck back and it will cost $15000 to release once the truck is left the premises. I tried to adjust my one night hotel stay in the price since I was misleading from day 1; they did not hear anything and hung up on me. I had no choice but to pay the driver $2000. I paid him $1100 in money orders and $900 in cash. They began unloading. They started stacking stuff in my car garage. Unload finished at 11pm. They left everything in my car garage and only fixed my bad and dresser and mirror. They did not take anything upstairs and left. We had more than 100 boxes and half of them were very heavy. We have about 13 boxes missing on the delivery. They broke one of our dinning set chairs, chipped one corner of our house, and made some dents on the wall while fixing our furniture. They did not hook up our dryer and washer either. Whereas I was told that they will assemble and disassemble everything and put it back the way they were. Our beds are still loose and make noises. They did a very poor job on the whole. We had to hire street guys and pay $800 to them to take our stuff upstairs. I have the inventory sheets that had everything on it. I have a list of missing stuff. I am demanding all my money back since I did not get delivery on time, I have missing stuff, broke our furniture, chipped our walls and was treated like nothing. We were insulted few times which caused a big time frustration. Please help us to get our money back and stuff. I would not deal with them anymore. I have the copy of contract and the copy of inventory sheet. I strongy urge everyone here of beware of the company!
