Budget Van Lines
DO NOT USE Anyone else liked to give money away to some that LIES to you over and over?

I recently moved from Dayton, OH to St. Petersburg, FL using Budget Van Lines to set up my move with Movers USA. WORST EXPERIENCE ever!!!

This post is to help others looking for moving companies and to keep you away from Budget Van Lines (even though their quotes seem cheap).

Basically Budget Van Lines is a contractor for moving companies. I thought I was getting a deal with them, but I surely did not. I am now going to list my complaints:

1) I was LIED to! First LIE, Budget Van Lines estimated by weight how much my stuff weighed. I saw the estimate and complained it was very much an overestimation. The Rep, James, said not to worry b/c when your stuff weighs less, you will pay less and be happy. Needless to say, when my stuff weighed over 300 lbs less than the estimation (at $0.36/lb) I should have paid $100 less. What happened was the movers, Movers USA, told me there was a 10% lead way so I still had to pay the full initial amount.

Second LIE, I was told my stuff would be in storage in FL nearby so that when I needed my stuff a month later, in 1-2 days from my requested date, I would have my stuff. Didn't quite work out like that. My stuff was stored in Maryland and b/c the distance, I had to pick a delivery date which allows my stuff to be delivered within 10 BUSINESS days of the date I pick. That's a 2 week window, unacceptable! Also, b/c my stuff was so far away, a semi truck was used to deliver it to my apt instead of a 26 footer, leaving me to rent a uhaul and pay $150 unloading costs b/c a semi wasn't allowed in my apt complex.

Third LIE. Your estimate covers all blankets and packing materials. Not quite. When the movers arrived, they told me they need an extra $200 to wrap up lamps and tables. And when they left, they demanded $450 b/c they used more tape and boxes than expected. It's hard to say "No" when the movers have all your stuff.

2) My final complaint is more with the moving company chosen, Movers USA. There website www.movers1.com states "they will treat your stuff like its theirs". That's true if they like their stuff broken and lost. We had several items, packed by the movers, broken and a missing bookshelf. To prove my point, there were several shoe prints and a few of our boxes labeled "very fragile", c'mon!

And when I called Budget Van Lines, more than once, just a message and no call backs.

In conclusion, I paid over $750 more than my original quote. DON'T USE BUDGET VAN LINES unless you want to be LIED to, stressed out, ripped off, used, taken advantage of, and like to suffer.in the future, I will do much more research before making a big move.

Hope this helps.
