Complaint / Review
Creditors Interchange, LLC
Rude, blunt, careless, dolt

I recieved a call from Justin Sposito a week or two ago (though I think it was 2 weeks, I've giving the benefit of doubt) on both my parents landline and my cell. He left messages on both; the message was identical on both voice mails. He never identified himself or the company he was calling with. Just that the message was for me, regarding my case # which was "on his desk as of" that morning. And that it was set to be filed against me out of the county in which I reside.

This scared the crap out of me, but I remembered from talking to my debt settlement company (whom I have been with since April of this year), what/how collectors would act/say to me when they called to try and collect the debt. So, I never called him back... But saved the voicemail, then logged the voicemail for UCAN.

This morning I recieved two more calls from him yet again (one on my parents land line, one on my cell); again both messages were the same. He still did not identify himself or the company he was calling with. He did stated however that the call was being recorded to show that he had attempted to call me several times and that I had not answered my phone or returned his calls for when the case went to court.

This time, I called him back. I was fed up. I told him I was with a debt settlement company, to which he quickly replied (and quite sternly I might add) "we do not work with debt settlement companies; this debt is your responsibility to pay off..." He then proceeded to inform me that most debt settlement companies lie to their clients; tell their clients that they're being taken care of when in reality they are not (we researched our debt settlement company and were pleased with what we saw and heard when we talked to them). He told me that Chase would not accept any montly payments. Then said that Chase would settle for like $3000 less than I actually owe as long as I could pay it within 3 months.

This guy also asked (like 3 or 4 times) if I had anyone I could go to for help in paying this debt (yeah, no, everyone I know is in the same situation as I am, living paycheck to paycheck). He also said that one of the conditions of the recent Government Bailout Package was that banks had to collect quickly on their bad debt to avoid "going under", so that's why Chase wouldn't allow monthly payments. It was also mentioned that if this went to claims court, I'd be paying the entire balance I owe, plus attorney fees, plus court costs, etc. And that they would garnish my wages (of which I don't have, as I have not had a job for the past year) if need be with the judgement.

This guy is scum. The company is scum. I tried calling just to talk to anyone (not putting in Justin's extension) and the line rang for 10 minutes before I finally hung up and just calle Justin. CI and their employees will say anything to get you to pay up. They'll use any scare tactic in the book to get you to cave. You just have to be strong and know what your rights are as a debtor. The best thing I ever did was read up on the FDCPA for both my state and federal debt collection act to know what I was in for, and how to handle things.

With the help of my debt settlement company, and UCAN, these scumbags are going to be put in their place. I no longer have to deal with their calls (my debt settlement company has PoA now) and harrasment.
