Employee hiring scams— untruths in advertising for these positions

I have recently applied to several jobs inthe DFW area for "entry level marketing" which I have found means "come work for us with little pay and make our senior officers rich". This website has an abundace of companies like the ones that I applied to that are nothing but scams.

I went to an interview with EQM, and in the elevator ride up to the 10th floor I spoke with someone who also works in that building, and got the scoop on them before I even walked in the door. I decided to go ahead with the interview, as I was already there and was interested to see wat it was all about. The walls were bare and offices as well, and the lady I did the interview with sounded as though she was reading form a script. As I spoke I could see her writing down every big word that I used, with no annotations or any kind of actual verbage.

In the main area where people were waiting to be called, there was loud music and they were playing "an inconvenient truth"on a tv with the captions on. I knew it was a scam already and at the end of the interview I was laughing on my way out of the office. They made a big show of $ but everybody there was wearing suits that cost $25 at Kohls. Nothing againt kohls, but don't expect me to believe that you nake 150k a year and cant get a better suit.

Later that day I looked at this company's website and it is the lamest thing I have ever seen. Poorly written, cheap looking. Also you can see in "about us" that not one of the major players in this company is over 25.
What really made me laugh is that the lady that apperantly started this company (elena stein) is the one that was sitting at the front desk acting as a receptionist when I walked in. RED FLAG!
There are plenty of postings about companies like these and I will tell you where the rip off is.

Advertising the position as marketing when it is really mlm "door to door sales" or "standing out in front of a store to sell products" is not what people think of when they apply to such a position. Also, I was told in a telephone conversation was a like company that my commissions would be pre - paid each week. Now how in the hell do you know what to pay me if you don't know the volume / amount of the sales? The way they make a big show of promoting from within (which is only to keep you from quitting), the fact that these job postings are always new and never seem filled on any job search website, and most importantly the countless stream of people that are sending warnings to people apllying for these jobs cements the fact that it just a big scam.

Your purpose is to go out and work as hard as you can to make $300/week so that the people way way way above you can make the real money, and remember they tell you that you will be there soon, but what they don't tell you is that the only way to do that is to tun a similar scam operation yourself.

To anyone filing a rebuttal:
The people who warn others about these postions are not lazy, or whining as I have seen posted. They are the ones who were smart enough to get out and cut their losses before it got too bad. If you want people to quit reporting that you are a rip off company, simply be honest about the job/pay in the posting, interview, etc. I bet you will have less turnover, and you can clear your name. Also don't give me any crap about hard work as I have been in sales for years and I know first hand that when I hired with my company I was told up front what my salary would be and my commission percentage. And a real company has HR department, not "hiring managers"

To potential employees of any marketing agency/firm:
GOOGLE is your friend! Look up these companies! If your results return only job openings and scam warnings then stay away and move on.
