I am a 20 year old who is Just beginning a life of credit. When i turned eighteen, being a young and stupid college student who needed money with no experience Capital One gave me a credit card with a thousand dollar limit. Well, worst came to worst and school became too much, i couldn't afford to pay for it any longer and along with all my student loans i had maxed out my capital one card.
I found myself working two jobs just to keep a roof over my head and feed myself. Let alone make all my student loan payments and credit card bills. So i'll admit i did worry about my self staying alive rather than paying my credit card bills. I kinda of took the ostrich approch and stuck my head in the sand until hoping it would all go away well i didn't. I started getting harrassing phone calls at work and home along with letters what seemed lke everyday from Love Beal and Nixon. They said if i just would work with them they would treat me with respect. Yeah right, i got told i needed to borrow it from someone or it was just going to get worse unless I settled. I have been making 125 payments to them just so they will stop harrassing me but over a 1000 dollar credit card somehow they have racked it up to almost 3000 dollars!!! I am trying my best to keep them happy but nothing works i pay them every month but my balance doesn't seem to go down just up! I am doing all i can just to keep shelter over my head and food on my table. Minium wage doesn't go very far. But i send them 125 every month despite anything. Yet as i said they are rude, and my balance hasn't went down! It's been over six months!!! Does anyone know how i can get treated fairly and maybe get my money i have paid them put towards my account? Should i get legal help???
