Capital One are sharks looking for innocent people to take advantage of... I immediately let them know my husband lost his job, I asked and called repeatedly to get a lowered payment I could afford. I have 4 open account with them 2 are mine 2 are my husbands. The fees, finance charges, and the fact that on each card everyday I don't pay it seems my balance goes up a hundred dollars at least.
For example about the payments my husband's account was overdue by 30 days his minumum montly payment before this was 15.00 a month now its 126.22. I keep calling them and asking to please remove some of my overlimit fees and past due fees they said they would but the balance would be one thing one day and i'd call back to ask about another account and the same account I called about the day before was still the same. One person would tell you one thing, and one person another.
I am disabled, I told them this and to please work with me until the first of the month when my check gets here but they said my balance would continue to increase daily. To make this situation even worse my husband had a change of address prior to all this happening and thought we had straightened all that out and had his old address here at home on file at the postal service, but his unemployment checks were just being rerounted from one post office to another so thier was at least a two week delay in each check, I also told them this they just asked me when I could make a payment today or tommorrow, I'm like didn't you just hear what I said thier is no money coming into the house at all. Its like it went right over thier heads and all they kept asking me was when I could make a payment. I'm frustrated with them and honestly im pissed, I would be paying my bills if I could but right now I can't.
After only 30 days they've already put this on my credit report. So because of circumstances I can't control my credit will be ruined regardless of what I do. I think companies like this should be held accountable, everyone is not bad, everyone is not gonna skip paying thier bills, but sometimes even the best of people get in a financial mess and cannot dig thier way out that quickly.
